A Manchester United staff member looks set to leave Old Trafford after just three months, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be concerned.
Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Chelsea will be a big boost for Rúben Amorim’s side, especially after the lacklustre performance at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.
While the red card inside the opening five minutes for Robert Sanchez had a huge impact on proceedings, United will take the positives as the team did well to hold onto their lead after Casemiro’s dismissal at the end of the first half.
It is a big step for the Red Devils on the pitch, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues to make positive moves away from it. The new training centre and moves in the transfer market were brilliant from the partial owner, although he has taken a blow in recent days.
Horseman moves to Arsenal in huge blow
David Horseman joined United in the summer to become the new under-21s assistant manager after David Hughes left the role to become the first-team manager at Newport County, where Habeeb Ogunneye is now on loan.
However, Horseman has already left his position and taken up a new role in the Arsenal academy setup as the “Elite Player Development Coach”.
While United have already begun their search for a replacement, losing an important academy coach will be a big blow for Ratcliffe and Jason Wilcox, as they look to rebuild the club through the youth teams.
The under-21s side is home to several of United’s best young talents – Jack Fletcher, Shea Lacey, Bendito Mantato and more – and losing a key coach just weeks into the season won’t give them much hope for the future of the squad.
Amorim should look to youth setup soon
Even with the chaos involving Horseman’s short tenure, United’s youth sides have been flying this season, especially Darren Fletcher’s under-18s.

Recent reports have suggested that several young talents are training with the first team, and Amorim should look to use some of them soon.
Lacey and Mantato – who were involved in the post-season and pre-season tours respectively – could both make an impact on the side, despite their young age.
If Amad continues to play in attacking midfield, Mantato could come in at right-wing-back and provide a similar skillset to the Ivorian, albeit not as polished just yet.
