Manchester United make ‘advances’ for third summer signing, Omar Berrada reacts by putting £108m duo up for sale

Manchester United are reportedly making advances for a third signing this summer, and Omar Berrada is reacting by putting a £108 million duo up for sale.

Manchester United are set to embark on what many expect to be an explosive summer at Old Trafford as Rúben Amorim looks to rectify a dismal domestic campaign.

United sit in 16th in the Premier League table, their lowest-ever finish in the competition, while they exited the FA Cup and Carabao Cup early in the respective competitions.

With the club gearing up for a Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur next week, the club also have one eye on their summer preparations as they look to make valuable additions to Amorim’s squad.

United want to sign multiple new attacking reinforcements, add a fresh midfielder to the group, and potentially upgrade the defensive line amid multiple departures.

United advancing on third summer signing

It has been well documented that the club are close to securing transfers for both Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, although the latter’s deal is dragging a little further behind amid interest from Chelsea.

However, with both the wide forward and striker hopefully set to sign deals at Old Trafford, Amorim’s side are also advancing on a third transfer.

According to The Independant, as well as taking steps forward for the signing of Delap, United have also “made advances” in securing a potential £60 million transfer of Antoine Semenyo, currently impressing at Bournemouth.

However, it is warned that both signings may hinge on whether or not United can win the Europa League, with Champions League qualification, another trophy for the cabinate, and significant financial reward the prize for the winning team.

Berrada reacts by putting up two players for sale

With United looking to bring in fresh faces in attack, CEO Omar Berrada, who is heavily involved in recruitment and sales, has seemingly put two of the club’s current forward line up for sale.

According to The Independant, United are looking to offload both Joshua Zrikzee and Rasmus Højlund this summer for the right price amid interest from Italy.

Zirkzee and Højlund cost United a combined £108 million across the 2023 and 2024 summer transfer windows, but with both players failing to perform consistently, it is claimed that United are ready to cut their losses.

The Dutch striker is said to be attracting interest from Inter Milan, who are prepared to sign the player on loan with an option to buy for around £30 million plus bonuses, while Højlund is said to be of interest to Juventus and Napoli.
