Erik ten Hag has reportedly set eyes on the potential loan offer of signing Vincent Aboubakar as a striker reinforcement this January window.

With Manchester United in need of an extra set of feet in order to bolster their options in front of goal, the man who so brilliantly let Cameroon during the 2022 World Cup is seemingly on Erik ten Hag‘s radar.

This is according to outlet OKAZ Online, who are claiming that the club have made a loan offer for the 30-year-old striker to Al-Nassr, with Aboubakar reportedly keen on the move.

Al-Nassr, of course, is the club that former red Cristiano Ronaldo has just put pen to paper with after his was relieved from his contract at Manchester United in November.

Aboubakar had a wonderful World Cup, most notably performing fantastically to fight for a 3-3 draw with Switzerland and scoring a late winner against Brazil in the group stages before getting hilariously sent off for a second yellow card for removing his shirt.

With the striker now having competition with Cristiano Ronaldo for the up-front position at the Saudi Arabian club, this could be an opportunity of a lifetime for him, to sign for Manchester United.

There are seemingly parallels to be drawn between this transfer and that of Odion Ighalo’s loan deal during January of 2020, when the veteran Nigerian striker was brought in due to a need for extra-firing power while under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ighalo did come up with some important goals for the club during his time at Old Trafford, and should Aboubakar do the same, there is no doubt that Erik ten Hag will use his talents when he is needed.
