Manchester United leading the race to sign Premier League star
Manchester United are reportedly set to beat out Premier League competition with the signing of Michael Olise.
Olise, 22, has been one of the best performers in the league, excelling in a Crystal Palace side that finished in the top ten of the Prem for just the second time in history.
Scoring ten goals and picking up six assists in just nineteen league matches, Olise has drawn the attention of several top teams including Manchester United.
Both Ineos and current United boss Erik ten Hag are believed to be keen on the winger, with FootballTransfers reporting that Olise would prefer a move to United than to any other Premier League outfit.
The report notes that despite Newcastle United having Olise at “the top of their wish list”, the 22-year-old is a boyhood fan of the Red Devils and would prefer to move to Manchester.
Having continued to impress at Crystal Palace across his three seasons in London, Olise is believed to fit several of the criteria Ineos have put in place for any of their marquee signings.
With three years of experience playing in the Premier League, Ineos see Olise as the ideal blend of potential and experience, whilst also being an appropriate age to plan for the future.
It has been reported by several outlets that Olise’s most recent contract, has a release clause of roughly £60 million. However, though not confirmed by FootballTransfers, to activate that clause, it is believed that several criteria must be met.
As a result of United reportedly working with a severely restricted transfer budget this summer, any move for Olise will likely depend on who the Red Devils manage to sell this summer.
On the right side of the attack, both Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho will be expected to leave Old Trafford, whilst Antony has continued to struggle since signing for the Red Devils in the summer of 2022.
