Manchester United have issued five injury updates as Erik ten Hag’s men welcome West Ham to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag‘s men are slowly returning to full fitness as Manchester United face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon following a 4-3 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the week.

United will be looking to leapfrog the Hammers in the table to go sixth in the hunt to chase those vying for Champions League places, and Ten Hag was able to field what is arguably his first-choice XI against Wolves.

After the fixture, Ten Hag issued updates on five players, explaining that although he does not expect either Tyrell Malacia or Mason Mount to be back for Sunday, Victor Lindelöf has returned to training.

“Ty (Malacia) and Mason Mount, I don’t expect them back, but I think Victor Lindelöf is almost back. Yesterday (Wednesday), he trained with the team, and we have to see how far he is.”

He also confirmed that there is no problem with Lisandro Martínez, despite his substitution: “It was a precaution. I took him off because, actually, I had to sub Rasmus Højlund because he was dead with all his running. Then we needed an extra header.

Ten Hag was asked if right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was close to fitness after he missed the last two squads due to an injury: “He is also on his way back, and he could be available for Sunday, but I don’t think he will make it for Sunday. I am not sure in this moment.”

Ten Hag went on to explain that there was a “problem in his leg”, but refused to expand further, saying “it is personal”.

Beyond this, Sofyan Amrabat returned to United on Saturday following Morocco’s exit from AFCON, and United now have a clean bill of health after returns to the XI for Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and others.

For West Ham, defender Nayef Aguerd is back in contention to play following his AFCON exit alongside Amrabat, while full-back Vladimir Coufal may make a return to the team after completing a suspension.
