Manchester United have told their potential managerial targets, including Kieran McKenna, their current stance on manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite having met with various potential replacements for the Dutchman in recent days, United have reminded them that it is not out of the question that Ten Hag remains at Old Trafford.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Old Trafford officials have notified representatives of potential replacements that they have not discounted the possibility of keeping Ten Hag.

The Dutchman won his second trophy as United manager on Saturday after winning the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Despite the dreadful Premier League campaign, which saw United finish in eighth place, Ten Hag has guided the club to back-to-back silverware-winning campaigns after six years without a trophy before he joined the club.

The Telegraph have explained that United have held talks with representatives of Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, and Kieran McKenna, and have also pencilled in discussions with representatives of Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

However, as the aforementioned report explained, these managers have been warned that the position is not definitely up for grabs.

McKenna has withdrawn as a candidate for the Chelsea job this week, and the MEN report added that the former United coach is reluctant to rush into a decision after guiding Ipswich Town to the Premier League. His favoured option, should he depart, has been reported as a return to Old Trafford.

Finally, it was stated that the club have stressed a review of the season will begin this week and no decision or action will happen before that review is complete.
