Manchester United join four-club race for Declan Rice alternative

Manchester United have reportedly lined themselves up along with three other European giants for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat this summer.
Erik ten Hag is said to want to strengthen his Manchester United midfield this summer, with the club reportedly in the market for a defensive midfielder.
United currently have Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen as their starting three midfielders, with both Fred and Scott McTominay said to be available for sale at the right price, and no decision made on the future of loanee Marcel Sabitzer.

The club are increasingly confident of signing Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer and it has been said that there is contact between the two clubs, although the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.
Previous reports have also suggested that United were targeting Declan Rice for the No. 6 position, although the England regular looks more likely to complete a move to Arsenal.
According to Philipp Kessler and Manuel Bonke, United have therefore decided to register their interest in 26-year-old Sofyan Amrabat.
Their interest is joined by Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona, who are all circling to sign the Moroccan and Fiorentina midfielder this summer.
Ten Hag is looking to make significant strides in improving his team over the course of the transfer window, with attacking, midfield, and defensive reinforcements all being targetted.
