Manchester United injury latest vs Fulham amid Rúben Amorim latest on “tremendous” star (Premier League)

Rúben Amorim will be waiting for updates on one of his key players as Manchester United prepare to face Fulham in the Premier League.

Manchester United are preparing for their first away game of the 2025/26 campaign as Rúben Amorim’s Reds travel to face Fulham in West London.

United’s first fixture of the Premier League season ended in a 1-0 defeat against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Old Trafford, although there were many positives to take.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were both fantastic during their first starts for the club, while new striker signing Benjamin Šeško also made his debut for the side.

After a good performance on Sunday, Amorim will be hoping his side can continue their pre-season momentum and secure their first win of the campaign.

United’s latest injury news vs Fulham

Amorim was blessed with a mostly fit squad as his club faced Arsenal, although a few missed out as they continue to reintegrate into the squad.

Joshua Zirkzee and André Onana both returned to full training last week after missing the whole of pre-season, but neither made an appearance against Arsenal, with the latter not in the squad.

However, Onana is expected to be reinstated as the club’s first-choice when United play Fulham, after back-up Altay Bayındır’s blunder allowed Arsenal to net their sole goal at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martínez is not expected to return to the squad until September, and Noussair Mazraoui continues to remain out of action after missing four of United’s five pre-season fixtures.

What is the latest on Mazraoui’s injury?

Mazraoui’s absence has been a strange one. There has been little confirmation as to why the Moroccan international has not been present since playing 45 minutes against Leeds United in mid-July.

Mazraoui was initially out with what was described at the time as a minor knock, but has not featured in any training sessions since, with Amorim refusing to provide any updates more significant than just that he was unavailable to face Arsenal.

Despite his lack of pre-season minutes, Mazraoui’s importance to United remains clear. After a “tremendous” debut campaign in Red, Amorim upgraded Mazraoui to become part of his six-man leadership group at United.

“Nous is in the group because he’s a character that I like,” Amorim detailed while on pre-season. “And I try to understand the dynamic of the group. Try to reach every space. They are the guys that are responsible to keep everyone in line.”
