Manchester United have been informed of what it would cost to bring Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers into Rúben Amorim’s squad this summer.
Manchester United are looking to add attacking reinforcements to Rúben Amorim’s front line this summer amid the club’s goalscoring problems.
While the club are being continually linked with those such as Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen, and Benjamin Sesko, United are also known to want to add attacking quality out wide, too.
In Amorim’s system, the club are playing a central striker with two wide attacking midfielders, with United in need for reinforcements due to poor form from Alejandro Garnacho and the pending departure of Christian Eriksen.
The Old Trafford side are thought to be looking for forward players who would be able to start on both sides of the pitch and provide extra creativity, with this burden mostly falling on Bruno Fernandes of late.
United learn Rogers transfer fee
Many of the names United have been linked with in recent months have been those from the Premier League, and the club are thought to be keen on Wolverhamton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha.
However, a fresh report from Fichajes has now claimed that United are looking at the possibility of bringing in Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers into the fold this summer.
The report states that Amorim sees the Englishman as a promising player who can strengthen his United squad’s attacking threat, and with the 22-year-old stunning fans with 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season, it’s easy to see why.
It is stated that United would be willing to offer around £70 million to Villa for the player this summer, but there is yet to be any sign that the Birmingham club would entertain offers for the former Manchester City academy star.
Villa boss Unai Emery considers the player as an untouchable member of his starting team, with the side keen to keep Rogers this summer as they push to remain an emerging force in the Premier League.
United should look elsewhere for reinforcements
While Rogers in no doubt a player who could add significant force to United’s front line, the club would be better off looking elsewhere.
As mentioned above, United have been linked with Wolves star Cunha, who is available for £62.5 million, which is certainly less than Rogers’ potential transfer fee if Villa were to even entertain talks.
Previous reports have stated that United see Cunha has a player who would be able to make an instant impact at United, drawing parallels with Fernandes’ brilliant performances when he signed for the club in January 2020.
There have also been links with Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is said to cost around £50 million this summer.
