Manchester United have reportedly submitted a bid for one Championship wonderkid as a potential swap deal appears to be on the cards.
Manchester United’s recruitment team is preparing to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of next season by placing a greater emphasis on signing young, dynamic talents.
While the club remains interested in experienced players such as Matheus Cunha—who is expected to arrive with a proven pedigree at the highest level—there is a clear shift towards investing in emerging prospects capable of developing into key figures at Old Trafford.
This change in approach is reflected in recent acquisitions like Sekou Kone, Chido Obi, and Ayden Heaven, marking a significant move away from United’s previous strategy of targeting older, high-earning signings.
United fans mostly appear to be supportive of this kind of strategy and some of the young players being linked the the club are extremely exciting.
United have submitted bid for Tyjon
According to fresh reports from RoversXtra, the Reds are among a group of Premier League clubs to show interest in Blackburn Rovers wonderkid Igor Tyjon.
In fact, it is claimed that United have “submitted a bid between £800,000-£1.2 million” for the 17-year-old talent, with Liverpool and Chelsea the other clubs eyeing the Championship forward.
Finally, it was added that personal terms between Igor and United are unlikely to be an issue as the player is open to moving to Old Trafford.
Igor made his professional debut for Rovers earlier this season and also appeared for them earlier this month in a 1-0 win over Sunderland.
He is a promising talent who plays in the front three, and many Rovers supporters rate him very highly. The youthful forward would likely go into United’s under-18s or under-21s.
Gore interest could mean potential swap deal
This follows on from reports which suggest that Blackburn Rovers are among the clubs interested in signing Dan Gore from United in the summer.
Gore is expected to depart the club after experiencing injury issues over the last two years and United’s interest in Igor could lead to a potential swap deal if their opening offer for the youngster is rejected.
Even if the two deals are not directly linked – the two club’s could benefit each other with smooth negotiations and that could even build links for potential loan deals to the Championship club.

Should the Reds complete a deal for Igor, he would be the first Championship player the club have signed since Dan James from Swansea in the summer of 2019.
