Manchester United deliver Leny Yoro return date hint with defender “desperate” to play key fixture
Manchester United have delivered a hint on when Leny Yoro could return after the defender returned to the grass at Carrington this week.
Leny Yoro was signed in the summer from Lille in a big-money move as Manchester United beat Real Madrid to the teenager’s signature.
The transfer looked to be one of large intent but United are yet to see the benefits of it as Yoro suffered injury in pre-season.
Following the weekend’s Premier League fixture against Brentford, which United won 2-1, Yoro returned to individual training on the grass at Carrington as the defender steps up his rehabilitation.
Man Utd deliver Yoro return hint
While United were able to upload images of Yoro in action on the training pitch, they also provided some further details on when the 18-year-old could make his debut.
A club statement on the defender’s warned that a return to playing will not be so soon, with ‘plenty of work’ still to come before Yoro reaches full fitness.
“There is plenty of work still to do for the centre-back and he will begin the transition to group training when he is ready,” the statement read.
“A competitive debut for the Reds is not imminent, but it’s really positive to see our summer signing reach this stage of his recovery.”
Yoro desperate to return for Arsenal clash
This follows on from a recent report by Ben Jacobs, who stated that while United are not looking to rush Yoro’s recovery, the 18-year-old is eager to be fit in time for the away fixture against Arsenal on December 3.
Yoro sustained his foot injury during a pre-season friendly against the Gunners, who are currently third in the Premier League.
With there still being around six weeks until that clash, Yoro could be able to reach full fitness in time to face Mikel Arteta’s men, or games in and around that period.
