Manchester United are pondering activating the release clause of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in the January window.

It is no secret that Manchester United are struggling for goals this season, with Erik ten Hag‘s forwards scoring a combined four goals in the Premier League after 13 fixtures in the competition.

They sit sixth in the table, and with the January transfer window looming, Ten Hag is looking to add four more players to his ranks – with a striker being one of these.

With this in mind, United have turned their attention to Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, who has 15 goals in 10 games this season.

This is according to the information of transfer specialist Santi Aouna, who claims that Manchester United are one of four clubs circling the player and pondering the thought of activating the striker’s £15 million release clause, which is valid from January.

Italian sides AS Roma and AC Milan, as well as fellow Premier League club Newcastle United, are the other three teams keeping an eye on the 27-year-old Guinean.

“I think he feels really comfortable,” Stuttgart manager Sébastien Hoeness said. “Of course, I hope he stays with us for a long time, just has a good time with us. But with him and with the others, it is never possible to exclude things.”

United are expected to be open to offers for Anthony Martial in the January window, and Guirassy may pose as the perfect replacement for Ten Hag and his team as they search for a reliable source of goals.
