Erik ten Hag is said to be considering signing four players for Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Manchester United‘s season so far has been turbulent, with Erik ten Hag‘s team sitting sixth in the Premier League table and bottom of their Champions League group.

After a disastrous start that saw the club lose half of their opening 18 games across all competitions, the team have won five of their last six league games, and Ten Hag is now looking ahead to the January window to strengthen his team and create some stability.

According to The Guardian, the Dutch manager wants to sign players in four positions in order to add depth and quality to his squad.

According to the report, United want to sign a defensive midfielder, a right-sided centre-back, a no. 8 midfielder, and a striker.

Despite the signing of Sofyan Amrabat on loan in the summer, he is yet to impress at United, with his “indifferent” start at Old Trafford causing the search for another defensive player. As Amrabat’s current contract is only a loan deal, this has cast his United future into jeopardy with United needing to spend another £25 million if they want to keep him.

Casemiro has also not impressed this season and has been on the sidelines for the last few weeks, with the 31-year-old looking slower than last season when he does play.

United have been through a tough injury crisis this season, with 16 players having been unavailable at various points of the campaign, and the club are also expected to need to sell before they can buy in order to comply with financial fair play.
