Manchester United have received a blow in relation to Casemiro in recent days following the latest transfer update.

Casemiro, 32, is expected to depart the club this summer as United look to reshuffle the squad at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Reds from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 and had an excellent debut campaign under Erik ten Hag.

He was crucial to the third-place finish in the Premier League and scored in the Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle United.

Yet, his second season at the club was less impressive and Casemiro now looks set to depart the club, with Saudi Arabia a regular link in recent months.

That move could help United, who must sell to buy this summer with new owners INEOS walking a financial tightrope.

The likes of Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are also expected to help make room for new signings through being sold.

However, the latest reports suggest that Casemiro’s move to Saudi might not be as straight forward as some suggested and that brings up a potential problem.

According to Sport1 journalist Christopher Michel, Casemiro had a potential move to the Saudi Pro League fall through in recent days.

It was explained that while negotiations were at an advanced stage, an agreement did not come to fruition.

While other clubs in Europe might be interested in the 32-year-old, it seems unlikely that many would be able to offer the player attractive wages, while also placing a respectable bid.
