Manchester United have reportedly told Harry Kane that if he wants to move to Old Trafford this summer, he must force Tottenham to let him leave.

Manchester United have long-admired Harry Kane, with Erik ten Hag said to have made the striker his No. 1 target this summer transfer window amid the requirement for a world-class striker.

Harry Kane has proven himself to be one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen, scoring a total of 213 goals in 320 appearances in the competition.

According to Neil Custus of The Sun, Manchester United have said “If you want the move, make it happen” to the striker this summer.

The report states that United want Kane to “come out with a transfer request or strongly worded statement” about his want to sign for the club this summer.

Ten Hag’s club values Kane at around £80 million while Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is asking for £100m, despite Kane turning 30 next month and just one year left on his contract.

Custis further states that Kane still “desperately” wants to join United and although Erik ten Hag needs a striker, the club are not prepared to let the situation drag on any longer.

Coming out and requesting a transfer is what Kane did not do two summers ago when Manchester City were gunning for the striker as Tottenham held firm despite the England captain wanting the move – so in order to finally get his transfer, Kane must do what he failed to two years ago.
