Manchester United receive another double injury boost, with starlet set to return after international break
Manchester United have received another double injury boost this week, with one starlet set to return to action after the international break.
The Reds have had a difficult start to the season, with just one win in three Premier League outings.
Erik ten Hag has several players unavailable through injury, but recent reports stated that Luke Shaw and Rasmus Højlund will both be fit to face Southampton after the international break.
However, there have been further developments on the recovery of other young talents during the break from Premier League football.
It has been reported by the Manchester Evening News that 18-year-old Leny Yoro is taking the next steps of recovery from his foot injury.
They explained that the teenager is now walking without crutches after he fractured his metatarsal in pre-season.
Following a successful operation, Yoro was seen wearing a protective boot and crutches at United games and around Manchester.
Should everything go according to plan, Yoro could be in contention to make his United debut in November.
Meanwhile, another young talent is making important progress in their own injury and could be back on the pitch soon.
According to a separate MEN report, 17-year-old starlet Shea Lacey is set to return to action after the international break.
Lacey, one of United’s most exciting youngsters, has been sidelined with a muscle injury since the back end of last season.
However, the report notes that he has made progress in his recovery and will be in contention to play after the break for the Under-18s, who face Newcastle on Saturday, September 14.
While Lacey is highly rated at Carrington, and there were thoughts that Erik ten Hag would offer him first-team opportunities before his injury, it is explained that he will be carefully handled and eased back into action.
The teenager signed professional terms with the club last term after he turned 17 and has already got many fans excited about his future.
