Manchester United among three clubs in “concrete negotiations” for Ruben Amorim’s perfect summer signing
Manchester United are reportedly in “concrete negotiations” to make a perfect addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad in the summer transfer window.
Ruben Amorim has experienced some difficulties in attempting to turn around Manchester United’s fortunates this season, with the team struggling to adapt to his new system.
A lack of squad depth and quality has led to the Portuguese boss often filling his bench with inexperienced talent from the Academy.
With the summer transfer window approaching, United’s leadership will know it is a key opportunity to bolster the squad and support Amorim with the necessary reinforcements.
Reports have suggested that United have already pinpointed several priority areas for improvement once the season concludes.
United in concrete negotiations for David
United’s financial situation ahead of the summer is far from ideal and while they will have money to sign players, there is a need to be careful and smart in the recruitment department.
One of the ways that United could spare cash is by signing free agents, with several impressive stars across Europe seeing their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Jonathan David is perhaps the best option, with the Lille striker leaving for free at the end of the season. He has scored 23 times and registered 10 assists so far this season.
It has already been reported that United are considering the Canadian international ahead of the summer window.
Now, reports from Le10 Sport state that United are one of three clubs “currently in active and concrete negotiations” to sign the 24-year-old.
It was explained that, alongside Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, the Reds are in talks with David’s agent at the moment.
While a final destination hasn’t been picked, David’s “heart is clearly leaning” towards a move to England.
David could be perfect addition for Amorim
United have been linked with a variety of centre-forwards ahead of the summer window, including the likes of Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyökeres and Liam Delap.
Any one of those signing will involve big money that United may not be able to afford right now. The Reds also need to strengthen in several other positions.
David is not only a good market opportunity because his contract is expiring, but also since he has proven a consistent level of goalscoring over the last few years.

He has surpassed 20 goals in all of his last three seasons, and scored 19 times in the 2021/22 campaign as well.
Amorim needs a reliable goalscorer and while no signing offers a guarantee, David seems to be the perfect option to bolster the team in terms of quality as well as affordability.
