Fabrizio Romano has explained that a further Manchester United outgoing is “absolutely on” as Erik ten Hag’s club continue to trim the squad.

While Manchester United are set to secure their fifth signing of the summer in Manuel Ugarte, the club are also working on several sales ahead of deadline day on Friday evening.

Erik ten Hag has so far brought in Joshua ZirkzeeLeny YoroMatthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui for a combined total of around £139 million, and Ugarte’s deal takes this figure just over the £200 million mark.

However, the club have also raised over £60 million so far through the sales of Aaron Wan-BissakaMason GreenwoodWilly Kambwala, and others, and more are expected before the deadline.

Scott McTominay is heading to Napoli for a medical on Tuesday, while Hannibal Mejbri is set to complete a move to Burnley, with these two sales amassing another potential £40 million.

However, United are also rushing to complete the sale of Jadon Sancho, who has been heavily linked with Serie A giants Juventus over the last few weeks of the window.

Although some have been sceptical about whether the deal will go through, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has explained that the idea is “absolutely on” ahead of the deadline.

“Juventus talks are ongoing for Jadon Sancho,” Romano explained on his YouTube channel.

“So the Jadon Sancho deal remains absolutely on between Manchester United and Juventus. Conversations are taking place, the player is open to discussing with Juventus.”

Further, Romano explained that the two clubs are talking every day in order to try and finalise a deal, while Sancho and his agents are also discussing contract terms ahead of a potential move. United are demanding around £40 million for his sale.

Sancho is currently earning an estimated £300k a week at the club, which the Turin outfit will not be able to afford – a solution will need to be devised for the deal to go through.

“Talks today, Tuesday, are taking place between Sancho, Manchester United, and Juventus, but also Sancho agents with Juventus to discuss the potential terms of the move. Juventus want to offer a loan deal with [an optional] buy-clause for Sancho.

“Manchester United are insisting on a guaranteed buy-clause, a mandatory option, mandatory buy-clause for Jadon Sancho. Let’s see what they can reach in terms of agreement, but Sancho is now open to joining Juventus. Now, it depends on the clubs.”
