Compromise reached as Manchester United signing expected to be finalised “imminently”
Manchester United are set to put a chain of events in motion that will “imminently” lead to their third signing of the summer so far.
Manchester United started off strong in the 2024 summer transfer window, securing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for a fee of £36 million before signing Leny Yoro from Lille in a £52 million transfer.
Both transfers were praised immensely for the way United went about their negotiations. The club signed Zirkzee for slightly more than his release clause in order to spread payments across three years, and the club snatched Yoro from the claws of Real Madrid after everyone thought his La Liga move was inevitable.

In the last few weeks, however, transfer talk has gone relatively quiet, with the club seemingly pausing their transfer inflows in order to shift players out of the club.
United have sold Mason Greenwood for an initial £26 million fee, while Willy Kambwala left for around £10 million and Alvaro Fernandez for around £6 million.
Next, it seems that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will become the latest player to leave, with the right-back having agreed personal terms with West Ham.
According to Claret and Hugh, although there was an initial disparity between the 26-year-old and the London club regarding wages, a compromise has now been reached. Personal terms have been agreed upon, and “all that remains is for the transfer fee to be agreed upon.”
The report says: “It is understood that the two clubs are not far apart in their valuation.” United reportedly expected the transfer to go through “imminently”.
This now means that United are close to securing their third signing of the summer, Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui.
Mazraoui is United’s replacement for Wan-Bissaka, and the club and the Moroccan player reached an agreement last week. The club has also reportedly agreed to a fee of around £21 million with Bayern Munich.
All that needs to happen is that the Old Trafford outfit need to shift Wan-Bissaka before Mazaouri can be officially signed. With the Englishman’s transfer to West Ham now “imminent,” Mazaouri can soon be thought of as a new Manchester United player.
