Manchester United to rival Bayern Munich for TWO star strikers, Rúben Amorim responds
Manchester United are reportedly set to lock horns with Bayern Munich this summer as the Old Trafford club prepare for the 2025 transfer window.
With Rúben Amorim set to lead Manchester United’s first team after Erik ten Hag’s exit, there’s a lot to consider.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s vision for United is starting to take shape nearly a year after his takeover, and many anticipate that Amorim will reshape the squad Ten Hag has built over the past two and a half seasons.

In the months ahead, Amorim is expected to carefully assess the team, determining which players align with his philosophy and who may not fit into his plans.
As speculation grows over which players the 39-year-old will retain, sell, or bring in during upcoming transfer windows, attention is turning to who United could sign for their new head coach this summer.
United locking horns with Bayern
According to the German transfer expert Christian Falk, Manchester United and Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are going head to head in their interest for two of the most exciting strikers on the planet.
With Amorim set to arrive at Old Trafford next week, United have been relentlessly linked with 26-year-old Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres. So far this campaign, Gyökeres has scored 23 goals in 17 games under Amorim.
In the last few months, he has become one of the most in-demand strikers across Europe and will certainly be one to watch.
Similarly, 21-year-old RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko has been making waves across Europe over the last two seasons, and it’s claimed that the two European giants both have him on their respective radars.
The Slovenian international has seven goals and three assists to his name so far this season and has been a player of interest to United for the last three summer windows.
Amorim addresses Gyökeres links
After scoring a hattrick against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, Gyökeres was again mentioned in the same breath as United.
However, when Amorim himself was asked wether he will bring the Swedish striker to Old Trafford with him, he said he will not joke about it and will respect Gyökeres’ wishes, whatever they may be.
“No, no, no, no! I cannot be funny with that in this moment,” he told TNT Sports. It was tough for me to leave. If I start to joke about that with Gyökeres then I have problems.”
He continued: “This is my city, this is my country, so I will respect that Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life… maybe he is going somewhere else.”
