Manchester United have a huge advantage as one Premier League starlet wants to leave his current club this summer after being unhappy.

Manchester United are set to prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer as Rúben Amorim’s side continue to struggle in front of goal.

United’s lack of firepower and creativity from open play has been a recurring issue this season, with the team frequently failing to score more than once per match. Their inconsistent performances at Old Trafford have only deepened concerns.

In January, the club loaned out several first-team forwards, including Antony to Real Betis, Marcus Rashford to Aston Villa, and Ethan Wheatley to Walsall for the remainder of the season.

Despite these departures, United did not strengthen their attacking options in January. Their only additions were defensive reinforcements—left-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and centre-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal—though Amorim has suggested that Dorgu could also be deployed in a more advanced role.

United on alert for Premier League starlet

This season has been a season that’s seen lots of young stars break into their roles as Premier League players, with Amad the main driver of this at United.

However, another player who has surprised many is Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, with the 18-year-old firmly cementing him as one of the brightest young talents in England despite Southampton’s struggles.

According to CaughtOffside, “special” Dibling is unhappy at the South Coast club and wants to leave this summer, with United now on alert for the signing.

It’s stated that, with Southampton expected to go down this summer as they sit at rock bottom of the table on nine points, it’s likely Dibling could leave the club for around £33 million.

However, United are not the only ones eyeing Dibling, with Tottenham, Aston Villa, RB Leipzig, Chelsea, Newcastle and, West Ham all having shown an interest in the English starlet.

United have a big advantage

Dibling has been compared to Chelsea star man Cole Palmer during his early days, with Danny Murphy telling Match of the Day: “Do you know what it is? I don’t want to put any pressure on him, but he plays his game like Cole Palmer, doesn’t he?

“He plays free and easy, and he gets himself into good positions, rolls players and takes the ball well.”

Should United look to secure Dibling this summer, they hold a significant advantage in that United technical director Jason Wilcox, former Southampton director of football, played an important role in his early development.

Former Saints boss Russel Martin said recently: “Jason Wilcox was pushing for us to play him more last season, but he wasn’t quite ready. It’s been beautiful to watch Tyler’s journey so far and he needs to keep going.”

There is little doubt that Wilcox will use his personal connections with Dibling to try and convince him to sign for United this summer should the club pursue a transfer.
