Manchester United planning SIX exits and four incomings as transfer deadline day approaches
Manchester United are planning for as many as six exits and four incomings as deadline day approaches for Erik ten Hag and his club.
Manchester United are on the verge of completing their fifth summer signing with the addition of Manuel Ugarte.
Erik ten Hag has already secured Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui, with the combined transfer spending totalling around £139 million. Ugarte’s deal will push this figure to just over £200 million.

In parallel, the club has generated over £60 million through the sales of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and others. With the transfer window closing on Friday, United are reportedly planning to finalise six more outgoings before the deadline.
According to Manchester World, academy defender Rhys Bennett is set to join League Two side Fleetwood Town before the transfer deadline. This would make him the first of six players the club are expecting or hoping to depart this week.
It is also mentioned that the club hope to loan academy duo Sonny Aljofree (centre-back) and Elyh Harrison (goalkeeper) out again over the next few days so that the players can gain valuable first-team experience.
Harrison was named the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year for 2023/24 at United following his fantastic performances throughout the Premier League 2 campaign.
Further, United are hoping three first-team players will also leave in the coming days. Hannibal Mejbri is on the verge of completing a move to Championship side Burnley for £9.5 million after undergoing his medical on Monday, and Scott McTominay is on his way to Naples to have a medical with Napoli sometime this week.
Finally, although no deal has been agreed as of yet, United very much hope that Jadon Sancho will complete a move to Juventus before Friday evening’s deadline for the demanded £40 million fee.
However, a report from the Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea are emerging as “serious” rivals for Sancho’s signing, meaning this may be one to watch.
In terms of incomings, United are hoping that four can be completed soon. As mentioned above, the club have all but sealed the signing of Paris St. Germain’s 23-year-old midfielder Ugarte, although he is yet to have his medical.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned Manchester World report states that the club hopes for Premier League approval of Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi-Martin’s transfers. These two highly rated youngsters will join the growing academy set-up at Carrington.
Finally, the fourth player expected to join the Ol Trafford club to sign is the young Mali talent Sekou Kone, who will join the club for an initial £1 million fee.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder will join the U21s side initially but will be given opportunities to train with the first team. Should he perform well, Ten Hag may give him a chance on the field.
