Man United eyeing Real Madrid forward Carlo Ancelotti once dubbed “perfect”
Ahead of the summer transfer window, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a Real Madrid forward that Carlo Ancelotti once dubbed “perfect”.
A big struggle for Manchester United this season has been failing to score goals compared to last campaign. Last season, the club scored 108 goals, whereas this season, only 86 goals have been notched in.
Last time, Marcus Rashford was the top scorer with 30 goals, while this season, Ramsus Højlund is on top with 16 goals. It is clear that United need a striker.

Erik ten Hag also feels this is a valid argument. He tried to sign a striker in January, but the club did not have the funds to do so. “We need to sign an extra striker in the summer,” Ten Hag told VI in an interview released on Saturday morning.
With this in mind, Spanish and Madrid-based outlet Defensa Central has claimed that United are keen on a deal for current Real Madrid striker Joselu. During his loan spell at the club, he has become a cult hero at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Joselu is actually contracted to Segunda División club Espanyol, but after their relegation, Madrid wanted the 34-year-old to boost their attacking options for the season. He has performed incredibly well, scoring 17 goals for Los Blancos, including two in the dying moments against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals.
The report claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team are preparing to send Joselu an offer this summer—a two-year deal worth £4.2m per year in wages.
Joselu is a player whom Carlo Ancelotti has greatly appreciated during his season in the Spanish capital. He noted earlier this season: “He’s the perfect reflection of what this squad is: players who contribute a lot without losing confidence [if they’re not playing] and the idea that they can offer the team something.”
