“Gift of god…” – André Onana delivers the ultimate praise to one Man United teammate
André Onana has delivered the ultimate praise to one Manchester United teammate ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Onana, 27, will face Manchester City in a cup final for the second time in a year after he was defeated by Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League final with Inter last term.
The goalkeeper will be desperate to win at Wembley with United this time around despite Erik ten Hag’s side going into the game as the underdogs.
The Old Trafford team will need all of their players to perform to their best ability in order to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2016.
One of the more reliable performers this season has been Diogo Dalot, who has been a mainstay in the side. He has been one of the few players to avoid injury across the campaign.
The full-back was awarded with the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award this week and it was fully deserved.
When asked about the Portuguese defender, Onana had extremely kind words and even claimed that it is a ‘gift of God’ to have Dalot in his backline.
“He’s a positive player. He’s very positive. He’s one of the players who play with a lot of energy, a lot of personality,” he told club media.
“It’s just nice to play with this guy. It doesn’t matter how things are going, he is positive. We go, we go, we go. It doesn’t matter. We just fight. We fight together. We work together. We lose together and we win together.
“For me as a goalkeeper, having Diogo on my side is just the gift of God.”
