Leeds United are looking to sign Manchester United starlet Hannibal Mejbri as Scott McTominay adds yet another twist to his summer transfer saga.

Hannibal Mejbri is set to leave Manchester United in the coming days. The Tunisian international has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Having shone at Birmingham City on loan in 2022/23, Erik ten Hag gave him his chance last campaign, scoring a fantastic goal against Brighton. Still, ultimately, his performances were outdone by Kobbie Mainoo, and Mejbri departed on loan to Sevilla in January.

After the Sevilla loan did not work out, he returned to the club this summer. If reports are to be believed, he recently handed in a transfer request that the club are willing to abide by.

According to the Daily Mail, Championship side Leeds United are interested in Mejbri’s signing, although Burnley are currently in pole position for the 21-year-old.

Other reports have also stated that a move to Ligue 1 or La Liga may be more likely, but it seems almost certain that the midfielder will leave United before the transfer deadline.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay has added another twist to his transfer saga. One of United’s most sellable high-value assets, the Scottish international has been subject to transfer interest from multiple clubs, most notably Fulham.

However, in a new twist, Napoli are said to have been keen on signing him. Although initial reports indicated that McTominay did not have much desire to leave, a fresh report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has suggested otherwise.

Pedulla claims that contact between Napoli and his representatives has been continuous and positive and that he would like to play under Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new manager.

United are said to be looking for around £25 million for McTominay this summer, but some of this may be made up through add-ons and bonuses rather than a flat transfer fee.
