Sevilla make Hannibal Mejbri feelings clear with 21-year-old set for Man United return
Hannibal Mejbri is set for a return to Manchester United this summer after Sevilla have made their feelings clear by leaving him out of their most recent squad.
Hannibal Mejbri‘s time at Sevilla has not gone according to plan. The 6-month loan that was possibly turning into a permanent transfer is now all but off, with the midfielder likely to return to Manchester United.
After some good performances under Erik ten Hag during the first part of the campaign, Mejbri dropped into the pecking order at Old Trafford following the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo in midfield, who has now firmly established himself next to Casemiro.

Mejbri then was sent on loan to La Liga club Sevilla with a buy-option for around £17 million that Sevilla could choose to activate if they were impressed with his performances, but it seems as if life has pivoted for the worst.
Hannibal Mejbri was left out of Sevilla’s matchday squad against Getafe on the weekend and has only completed 90 minutes on four occasions since his arrival in Spain.
Mejbri’s overall time at Sevilla has been marred by controversy. The player was left out of one squad just over one week after he initially signed for the club.
“After being with him, talking to him and having seen his first minutes in Girona, we are going to give him the necessary space to understand where he is, that he is at Sevilla and what it means,” manager Quique Sánchez Flores explained at the time.
“He has to know where he is, and we want to see him. We have spoken with him and we believe that he has to have some time to learn, we wanted to give him space, time for him to see things from the outside and then he will return to the squad.”
However, in a strange turn of events, Sevilla then decided to include him in the team anyway, although he has had limited time ever since.
In order for Mejbri to sign permanently for the Basque club this summer, something monumental will have to change in the remaining weeks of the season. It seems as if he is now destined to return to Old Trafford in the summer.
Everton expressed interest during the January window, and with United interested in Amadou Onana this summer, there could be scope to create a swap deal.
