Rúben Amorim ‘offered’ £66m star in cut-price deal from European giant, Manchester United’s fantastic relationship helps
Manchester United have been reportedly offered a Napoli star for as little as £60 million amid their positive relationship with the Serie A giants.
Rúben Amorim‘s era as head coach of Manchester United is now taking shape, and the 39-year-old is starting to figure out his squad as he replaces Erik ten Hag.
The players have had multiple weeks of training with Amorim, which has allowed them to start understanding the new 3-4-3 system he is implementing. The coach is also beginning to learn about his stars’ strengths and weaknesses.

However, United is also starting to plan for its 2025 transfer targets, focusing on the summer window as winter budgets are tight.
While Amorim has significant input into targets, having assessed where his side needs new players, sporting director Dan Ashworth and director of recruitment Christopher Vivell are now primarily leading recruitment.
United’s attacking stance
In the last few weeks, it has become clear that the club are looking to sign a new forward this summer. UtdDistrict understands that Amorim is keen to strengthen the two No. 10 attacking roles he employs in his system.
This week, it has been reported in Italy that United are “serious” in their interest in Napoli sensation Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, with Amorim eyeing the 23-year-old as someone who can play in that attacking midfield role.
Kvaratskhelia has occupied the position under Antonio Conte this season, but according to a report from Italian journalist Ciro Venerato via Tutto Napoli, there is a “cold war” between the player and his club regarding his contract.
This has come about because Napoli rejected a lucrative offer from Paris St. Germain last summer, and Kvaratskhelia is demanding more in wages than Napoli is prepared to offer.
Should United go with an offer for Kvaratskhelia, they may have an edge as the club’s good relationship was formed through Scott McTominay’s sale last summer.
United ‘offered’ £60m star
Venerato has explained that in the wake of this, Kvaratskhelia has been offered to United as well as three other European giants, with the agent looking to sell at a fee as low as £66 million, which is far less than his transfer value.
“Napoli won’t go over €6m per year compared to the €1.8m he gets now,” he said.
“The player, who was hurt by the no to PSG, who would have guaranteed €13m a year according to the agent, wants to be partly compensated with a figure closer to €10m and away from €6m.
“I think a renewal is sought for a farewell next year with a clause. The agent prefers it at €80m, while Napoli would like it close to €120m.
“Kvara has been proposed to Barça, Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG again. But there are no negotiations in progress.
“There is disappointment on the part of De Laurentiis, this very cold ‘no’ he did not digest. So much so that since then, there has been no raise either on the salary or the clause.”
