“Concrete negotiations…” Manchester United in talks for late transfer, confirms Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United are still in talks about a late deal as the transfer deadline approaches.
Manchester United are on the brink of completing their fifth summer signing with the addition of Manuel Ugarte.
Erik ten Hag has already brought in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui, with total spending currently around £139 million. Ugarte’s deal will see that figure surpass £200 million.

At the same time, United have raised over £60 million through the sales of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and others. With the transfer deadline approaching on Friday, the club is working to finalize four more departures.
In a recent video, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained what United are currently getting done in their final days of the window, explaining that they are still in discussions surrounding a final deal that may take place.
The club are looking to offload Jadon Sancho over the next 48 hours, and there have been heavy links between the forward and Chelsea, with the London club proposing Raheem Sterling in a swap deal.
Romano explained that United are internally discussing Sterling’s potential addition to their squad, consulting Ten Hag on the possibility of the 29-year-old joining.
“Now it’s on United, so United internally are discussing Sterling, what Ten Hag thinks, what the board thinks, what INEOS people think,” Romano revealed during a Playback stream.
“So internal discussion at Manchester United [are] about the Raheem Sterling swap deal topic for Jadon Sancho.”
Firther, Romano explained that United are still in concrete discussions with Juventus, who have been interested in the forward since January.
“Then, at the same time, there is a club in concrete negotiations for Jadon Sancho, and that club is Juventus.”
A report from Gianluca di Marzio explained that the Serie A club’s first offer for the 24-year-old was a loan fee of around £6-7 million, including add-ons and coverage of part of his salary. United are likely to reject this—they want a complete sale.
