Manchester United settle on £33 million loss with forward “offered” to European giant
Manchester United are seemingly happy to settle on a £33 million loss as they look to fund further transfers for Erik ten Hag this summer.
Manchester United have made a strong impact in the summer transfer window by signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36 million and 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille for £52 million.
The acquisition of Yoro, in particular, has drawn praise as United and INEOS successfully outbid Real Madrid, highlighting their ambitious future plans.

The club is also looking to strengthen their midfield and have been frequently linked with Paris St. Germain’s 23-year-old Manuel Ugarte. Ugarte recently contributed to Uruguay’s third-place finish at the 2024 Copa America tournament.
However, in order to continue buying further targets, they must raise as much as they can from player sales. The club have already raised over £35 million, with Mason Greenwood, Donny van de Beek, Alvaro Fernandez, and Willy Kambwala all leaving, but more are expected to depart.
Jadon Sancho, 24, was away from United for the latter part of last season following a dispute with manager Erik ten Hag, who dropped him due to poor training performances. Sancho publicly denied this, leading to a six-month loan to Borussia Dortmund.
Despite expectations of a summer sale, Sancho and Ten Hag recently resolved their issues in a lengthy conversation. Sancho is now back with the United team, fully involved in pre-season training and was part of the 29-man squad that flew to the USA on Wednesday afternoon.
However, according to ESPN, in a new twist, Manchester United have settled on an asking price of around £40 million for the English forward. This represents a £33 million loss from the £73 million that United spent on Sancho in the summer of 2021.
Further, the report states that Sancho has been “offered” to Ligue 1 outfit Paris St. Germain, who is being considered by those in Paris as he suits the type of player they want to replace Kylian Mbappe with.
It is also added that, while there have been links between Bruno Fernandes and PSG and that the French side appreciates the United captain’s abilities, he is not currently a target as he is deemed too expensive.
