Manchester United handed multiple transfer boosts as striker’s price is slashed
Manchester United have been handed multiple transfer boosts as one of INEOS’ targets has had his price tag slashed for this summer.
Manchester United are looking to sign a striker to play in tandem with Rasmus Højlund this summer. Erik ten Hag‘s squad desperately needs further firepower for next season.
As Anthony Martial has left the club, Højlund is the club’s only recognised centre-forward, and following his 16 goals this season, a more established No. 9 is needed.

As UtdDistrict revealed, the club have the position as one of their two highest priorities. Further reports have explained that Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Lille’s Jonathan David, and Dutch goalscorer Joshua Zirkzee.
On Toney, talkSPORT has now revealed that Brentford have lowered their asking price for him by £20 million, as the player is entering the final year of his deal.
While the Bees were initially asking for £80 million, they are now said to be willing to entertain offers at around £60 million, although they will not dip below this minimum price.
“I’m a Brentford player. I have a year left [on my contract]. Going into a major tournament, that is my main focus now,” Toney stated on his future.
“But after this, I’ll be going back to Brentford, and I will be a Brentford player still. It’s nice to be linked with other clubs. But I’ve had this in the past. Nothing is done until it’s done.”
The forward was then asked whether he would engage in talks with any potential suitors in the upcoming window, “Obviously, if it was to come, I would be ready,” he added.
“But I’ve got to remain focused and not let other things and other noise get the best of me and just focus on what I need to do for my club.”
Meanwhile, Lille president Olivier Létang provided an update on the future of David in a press conference presenting Bruno Génésio as the club’s new manager the other day.
Génésio will likely be without two of the club’s key players from last season. As Létang stated, as per GFFN, “We have two players who will be allowed to leave: Jonathan (David) and Leny (Yoro).”
