Manchester United reportedly have a winger who prefers to sign for Erik ten Hag’s club and is refusing a new contract.

Manchester United could do with adding as much attacking firepower as possible this summer following a season that saw the club fail to exceed in front of goal.

Rasmus Højlund was Erik ten Hag‘s top scorer last campaign with 16 goals, which, although is decent for a player’s first season, it’s a far cry from what’s needed from the top scorer at an elite club.

Those such as Marcus Rashford and Antony had thoroughly underwhelming seasons in front of goal compared to the standards that had been set, and although the club have brought in Joshua Zirkzee, further additions may be needed.

Although Jadon Sancho has returned to the club following his loan at Borussia Dortmund, there are rumours that he is still up for sale for a price of around £40 million, and should that happen, United may return to the market.

United have been linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa for the last eight months as a potential replacement when it was thought that Sancho’s career at United was already over, and according to Italian reports, the 26-year-old is keen on the move.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa will meet the club’s new manager, Thiago Motta, in the next few days to discuss his future after Motta deemed him surplus to requirements.

Chiesa is thought to have rejected a new contract offer from the club with one year left on his current deal, and his agent, Fali Ramadini, has been in London to try and find him a Premier League club.

There has been interest in Chiesa from both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but according to the report, Chiesa’s preferred destination is Manchester United.

Bayern Munich are also said to be “keeping an eye” on the situation at hand. Juventus are thought to be demanding between £20-25 million this summer, but they may drop their demands in order to finalise a deal.
