Manchester United are already planning for the 2025 summer window and are keen on a £70 million player who has already agreed personal terms.

Manchester United‘s 2024 transfer window brought major changes to the squad at Old Trafford, marking a period of significant activity.

Under Erik ten Hag‘s guidance, the team welcomed five new first-team signings: Joshua ZirkzeeLeny YoroMatthijs de LigtNoussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, all joining over the summer.

Simultaneously, the club offloaded several high-profile players, including Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho, and Mason Greenwood, raising over £120 million in transfer fees during the window.

However, new reports have emerged that show Ten Hag’s club are already planning for the 2025 summer transfer window, having identified three positions they want to fill.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United want to sign a new defender, midfielder, and winger next summer, with several players in these current positions expected to leave once the 2024/25 season is finished.

The report further details that United are interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who has a £68 million release clause. However, additional claims have been made that another £70 million player may be on his way to Old Trafford.

According to the MEN, United are continuing to monitor Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite. The Merseyside club value him at around £70 million, and his personal terms agreement with the Old Trafford outfit remains in place after talks in the summer.

Victor Lindelöf is expected to leave United next summer when his contract expires if he doesn’t secure a move away in January. This season is currently expected to be Jonny Evans’ final at Old Trafford following the 36-year-old’s one-year contract extension earlier this summer.

Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martínez, and Leny Yoro will all stay at the club, but Harry Maguire’s future is up in the air. He has been for sale for the right price for the last two summers but has been increasingly helpful for Ten Hag during injury bouts across the squad.

However, the 31-year-old is not getting any younger, and his contract expires in 2025, although the club have the option to extend it by a further year.
