“As if…” Agent slams club for trying to sign £150k-a-week Manchester United star
The agent of a Manchester United star has slammed one European club for trying to sign his client during the 2024 transfer window.
Manchester United‘s 2024 transfer window was a period of substantial activity, resulting in significant changes to the squad at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag bolstered the team with five key additions: Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, all of whom signed over the summer.

At the same time, the club saw notable departures, including Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho, and Mason Greenwood, generating over £120 million in sales during the transfer window.
However, while nine players left the club for new pastures, and five were released following the expiry of their contracts, some thought that a few other big names would have left this summer.
While Casemiro was the main suspect, others thought that, due to the rise of Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen may leave. Anderlecht showed significant interest in the star, who earns 150k a week at Old Trafford.
However, Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, who won three league titles at Anderlecht during his playing days, slammed the Belgian club for their intentions to sign the Danish international.
“I have serious questions about the transfer policy of some clubs. Anderlecht, for example,” Boskamp explained via Voetbal 24.
“No idea what the intention is there, but I don’t recognise that club anymore. As if Eriksen ever wanted to go there!”
The player himself explained earlier this summer that he would be happy to see out his contract at United as he feels comfortable in and around Manchester and United.
“Mentally, I am still the same, but body-wise, in terms of games and how we play, sometimes it is good to have a rest, to be able to perform to 100%,” Eriksen told reporters during the club’s pre-season tour.
I have one year left, so for me, I am a United player and for the last year as well.
“I haven’t been told [to] leave or [about an] extension. I feel good, my family is feeling good living in Manchester, and United is a nice club.”
