Manchester United ‘decide’ on Adrien Rabiot transfer after free transfer talks
Manchester United have reportedly made their decision regarding signing Adrien Rabiot for Erik ten Hag on a free transfer this summer.
Manchester United‘s 2024 transfer window was remarkably dynamic, leading to major changes within the squad. at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag reinforced the team by acquiring five first-team players: Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.

Concurrently, the squad underwent significant reductions, with the departures of Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho, and Mason Greenwood, which brought in over £120 million in sales throughout the summer.
However, there have been rumours circulating that their business was not finished, with the club looking into the idea of signing former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer after his contract with the Turin outfit expired.
According to FootballInsider, United have now arrived at their decision, deeming that the overall cost of the package to add him to Ten Hag’s squad is too expensive.
According to the report, talks between the club and the France international have been ongoing. Still, his demands regarding his wage package and signing fee are too much despite the club’s long-term admiration for the midfielder.
Rabiot is also a target of Saudi Arabian and Turkish clubs, but other reports have stated he is determined to sign for a club within Europe’s elite leagues.
United’s signing of Ugarte will strengthen their midfield following criticism of Casemiro’s performance against Liverpool. He was at fault for two of the visiting team’s three goals.
United had wanted to move Casemiro this summer, but his high wage package, which is reportedly around £350,000 a week, made this impossible.
