Manchester United ‘set’ Scott McTominay transfer fee after Erik ten Hag’s words, reject second bid
Manchester United have seemingly set their transfer fee for Scott McTominay this summer despite Erik ten Hag’s public plea last week.
Scott McTominay‘s 2023/24 season at Manchester United has been his most successful, netting 10 goals under Erik ten Hag.
Since debuting under Jose Mourinho in 2017, McTominay has been a versatile and reliable player for every manager during his seven-year tenure with the first team. However, last season appears as if it may be his last at Old Trafford.

In 2023, McTominay was close to a £30 million move to West Ham, but the deal ultimately fell through, keeping him at United for another year. Now, with INEOS needing to generate funds for new signings, McTominay is drawing interest from multiple Premier League clubs.
Reports from earlier this month clarified that McTominay was of interest to Newcastle United, West Ham United, Fulham, and Southampton, but there were also indications that the club may trigger the one-year extension in his current deal.
Fresh information from Turkey via Sport Witness has revealed that United have now set a price of around £25 million for McTominay. This information comes coupled with the news that Galatasaray have made a £12.6 million bid for the player.
This bid, which is lower than the £17 million bid Fulham saw rejected, will almost certainly have been immediately rejected.
United’s apparent admittance to a reasonable transfer fee for McTominay comes despite Ten Hag’s public demand to keep him this summer.
“We have very good players, so they’ll always have interest,” the Dutchman told the media after a 2-0 win over Rangers during pre-season. “If you score 10 goals in a season [and perform very well for Scotland there will be an interest.
“We want to actually keep him. When we had the sixes, and he could play in a more advanced role, he’s a highly interesting player.”
