Manchester United may be handed a last-minute injury boost as Erik ten Hag prepares his side to face Crystal Palace (A) in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Manchester United face a crucial stretch of four matches to secure their spot in the Europa League next season. They currently trail Tottenham Hotspur by six points in fifth place, with Newcastle United trailing closely behind by just one point in seventh.

Erik ten Hag‘s side, presently positioned sixth in the Premier League standings, has struggled for consistency this season. Failing to produce positive results this month could see them slide further down the table.

They have been hit with a ridiculous number of injury problems in defence over the last month, with five of Ten Hag’s six first-team centre-backs supposedly injured. Jonny Evans has travelled, but his fitness is unknown.

However, a new claim has been made that there is a small chance that Raphaël Varane could be passed as fit to play at Selhurst Park, according to a source that well-known Manchester United fan FlexUtd has spoken with.

Flex has explained he has learned from prominent X account UTDINSIDER1, who has often been incredibly accurate regarding internal injury news surrounding the club’s first-team squad, that Varane may be able to make the team.

Speaking on the UnitedView YouTube channel, Flex said, “I was speaking to UTDINSIDER1. He provides the team news and stuff, and he said he has a feeling that Varane could make it as well.”

Casemiro has been filling in at centre-back due to the absence of United’s central defenders, and many expect he will play alongside Evans against Palace this evening. However, if Varane is fit to play, this will release a lot of pressure from Ten Hag’s team.
