Manchester United’s Casemiro is ‘better’ than Man City treble hero, claims Premier League ace

Sheffield United midfielder Vinicius Souza has explained how he believes Manchester United’s Casemiro is better than Manchester City’s treble hero, Rodri.
During Casemiro‘s first season at Manchester United, he scored a number of very important goals while showing himself to be a brilliant asset both on and off the ball, putting him in the frame as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
However, in a season where Manchester City‘s Rodri won the treble and scored the winning goal in the Champions League final, Erik ten Hag’s man was overshadowed by their success.
This season, Casemiro started off well, scoring four goals in the opening few months of the campaign, but suffered a long-term hamstring injury at the beginning of November and has failed to recover his fantastic form since.
Meanwhile, Rodri has become crucial for yet another title race, and has not lost with either City or Spain for 66 matches, with his last defeat coming against Tottenham on 5 February, 2023.
Best in the world?
However, Sheffield United midfielder Vinicius Souza, who is Brazilian by birth, has very much offered an opinion to the contrary.
“You know, for me, (Casemiro is) the best player in the world,” Souza explained to the Premier League’s official YouTube channel.
SPeaking further, he explained that he does like Rodri, but Casemiro pips the Spaniard as the better player.
“Yeah definitely (I model my game on him). For me Casemiro, is the best midfield player in the world, in the tackle, everything. OK, I like (Manchester City’s) Rodri with the ball. But, in that position with the tackles and (being a) strong guy, Casemiro is the best.”
