Manchester United chiefs are in disagreement about a potential £42 million transfer target who has been described as ‘unbelievable’.

Manchester United are already planning for the 2025 transfer windows as Ruben Amorim continues to build his squad at Old Trafford.

Amorim’s tenure so far has included a standout victory over rivals Manchester City, where late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo secured a crucial Premier League win.

To fund new signings, the club is expected to make some significant sales, with Marcus Rashford potentially among those departing.

The no.10 has admitted that he is open to a move, with reports suggesting United are looking for offers of around £40 million for the forward this summer.

United chiefs disagree about Ederson signing

According to reports from Sky Germany, the Reds are ‘seriously considering’ making a move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who was labelled as ‘unbelievable’ by United icon Owen Hargreaves.

However, it was also claimed that some of the major decision-makers at Old Trafford are ‘not fully convinced’ of the Brazilian’s qualities.

This is why there are no concrete negotiations at this stage but the report explained that United have scouted the player multiple times and have all the information they need.

United’s hierarchy has been shifted slightly following the departure of Dan Ashworth as sporting director earlier this month.

Jason Wilcox, the club’s technical director, has reportedly taken more responsibility since Ashworth’s exit and interim director of recruitment Christopher Vivell is also expected to take a permanent role.

The aforementioned report concluded that Ederson’s expected price tag is around £42 million.

Two United midfield exits expected

Despite the summer addition of Manuel Ugarte, it is expected that midfield departures will occur at Old Trafford.

Christian Eriksen is free to discuss pre-contract terms with foreign clubs next month and is certainly going to leave either in the summer or in January if United find any suiters.

Meanwhile, Casemiro could also depart as his role becomes less prominent under Amorim.

The Brazilian has started three games so far under the new head coach but with Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo in the team, it seems unlikely he will get many minutes.

With his high wages, it would be no surprise to see United try and move Casemiro on in the summer and bring in a player like Ederson to replace him.
