The latest on Bruno Fernandes’ injury as Manchester United will be without Marcus Rashford as Erik ten Hag prepares to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

Manchester United will be continuing their fight for Europa League football on Monday evening as Erik ten Hag prepares his side to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park.

A 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday saw Newcastle United leapfrog the Old Trafford side to sixth in the Premier League table, with United now sitting in seventh and out of the catchment for Europa League football.

With this in mind, they must make sure they take all three points when they travel to South London and retain their position as one point above Newcastle in the table.

Ten Hag, speaking to club media ahead of the game, confirmed that the side will continue to be without Marcus Rashford since his injury in the FA Cup semi-final.

“We have some players with question marks,” he said on Friday. “Rashy, I think he is a big doubt. For Monday, at this moment, I do not expect him back.”

Bruno Fernandes is also rumoured to be out for the tie. News on Friday revealed that as well as suffering from an ankle problem, Fernandes is carrying a hand problem and was spotted wearing a protective cast on his right hand.

United confirmed on Sunday afternoon that Harry Maguire had suffered an injury during training and would be out for a few weeks.

However, there was also some good news that Ten Hag delivered a few days ago. “The good news is Jonny Evans returned to the training pitch, and if the two days go well, he will be in the squad,” Ten Hag confirmed on the centre-back.

“I also expect Scott McTominay, he didn’t train during the course of the week, but I expect him back on the training ground and on the pitch on Saturday. He then has two training [sessions] going into that game with Crystal Palace.”

Beyond Evans and McTominay’s potential returns, United have also been boosted by Anthony Martial’s reappearance with the squad in first-team training.

Lisandro Martínez, Victor Lindelöf, Willy Kambwala, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia are still out of action, while there have been faint talks that Raphaël Varane could return, although these are unconfirmed,
