Manchester United expected squad vs FC Twente following Erik ten Hag’s hint
Erik ten Hag has hinted at the nature of his squad as he prepares Manchester United to face FC Twente in the Europa League on Wednesday evening.
After a 0-0 stalemate with Crystal Palace, Manchester United will kick off their Europa League campaign at Old Trafford against FC Twente.
Erik ten Hag’s side is set to play eight group-stage matches, with the top finishers securing spots in the knockout phase.

Although this will be the first competitive match between the two teams, Ten Hag is very familiar with FC Twente. He made 257 appearances as a centre-back during three separate spells with the club between 1989 and 2002.
After a season torn with injuries last campaign, Ten Hag has relatively few to deal with ahead of the Twente tie, with only four players being ruled out of the fixture.
Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia are all confirmed absentees. At the same time, Ten Hag indirectly explained that Victor Lindelöf will also not be part of the squad at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
When asked if there would be any returns to the squad that drew against Palace, Ten Hag confirmed that there would not, meaning Lindelöf, despite having returned to training, is not ready.
Mason Mount and Rasmus Højlund returned to the squad on the weekend, which is a huge boost. Although Mount did not play, he will likely see minutes in the Europa League tie.
Rasmus Højlund returned to the side following his two-month hamstring issue sustained during pre-season and played 14 minutes. With Joshua Zirkzee having started multiple games across the last month, Højlund may be afforded 60 or so minutes.
Expected squad vs FC Twente
