The latest updates on Manchester United’s team news as Chelsea suffer a fresh setback ahead of the Premier League fixture on Thursday evening.
Manchester United and Chelsea will face off on Thursday evening in the Premier League. They both chase European places in the remaining fixtures of the season.
Both clubs have been plagued by injury problems in the last few months, although Erik ten Hag recently confirmed that three of United’s central defenders have all trained in the last few days.

“But in the backline, we have a lack of options, but the good thing is back in training this afternoon is Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans,” he said on Wednesday afternoon. “Yesterday, Harry Maguire was back in training.”
This is crucial as on Tuesday evening, the club confirmed in a statement that both Victor Lindelöf and Lisandro Martínez had suffered injuries that will keep them out for around a month.
Elsewhere on the field, the Chelsea tie could see a first start for Casemiro since he was ruled out of the Liverpool FA Cup win last month, while Amad Diallo is now back from suspension following his red card at the end of that game.
Mason Mount is returning to full fitness and scored his first goal for United on the weekend, while a return from Anthony Martial is anticipated soon following his groin surgery in January.
Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw remain injured, while Altay Bayındır returned to training this week following a short lay-off.
For Chelsea, they have suffered a fresh set back after manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that left-back Ben Chilwell will not be available for the tie. Robert Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah, and Carney Chukwuemeka all trained ahead of the game.
“Trevoh and Malo trained with us,” confirmed Pochettino. “They will be ready to be in the squad. Chilly [Chilwell]? No, we didn’t see him since Friday because the doctor removed a lot of fluid from his knee. Saturday, he got ill. Monday, Tuesday and today, he’s not here. He’s at home.”
Speaking further, he reiterated that Christopher Nkunku will not play, while Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu all remain sidelined.
