Manchester United’s Carabao Cup fourth-round opponents confirmed as kick-off details emerge
Manchester United will face Leicester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup following their 7-0 romping of Barnsley.
Manchester United started their 2024/25 Carabao Cup adventure in style, defeating Barnsley 7-0 at Old Trafford last week.
Erik ten Hag fondly holds the competition. He lifted the trophy in the 2022/23 season, marking his first as United boss and the club’s first in over six years.

However, form across all competitions in 2024/25 has been mixed, with the club having drawn back-to-back games against Crystal Palace and FC Twente in the Premier League and Europa League, respectively.
Fourth round details
In the next round of the completion, United will face Leicester City at Old Trafford as they look to reclaim the title they won in 2023.
Although Leicester are now back in the Premier League, the clubs are yet to face each other. The last meeting came in February 2023, when United ran out at 3-0 winners on their home turf.
When is the game?
The matches will be played in the week commencing Monday, 28 October.
As in the last round, any matches that end in a draw at this stage of the competition will go straight to penalties; extra time is only used in the Carabao Cup from the semi-finals onwards.
Other fixtures
The other fourth-round ties are as follows:
AFC Wimbledon/Newcastle United vs Chelsea
Brighton vs Liverpool
Tottenham vs Manchester City
Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday
Southampton vs Stoke City
Preston North End vs Arsenal
Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace
