Fans told Manchester United star ‘deserves praise’ for underrated performance vs Brentford
Manchester United fans have been told that Marcus Rashford deserves his praises for an underrated, fantastic performance against Brentford.
Manchester United staged a dramatic comeback to claim all three points in a 2-1 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Brentford took the lead just before half-time when Ethan Pinnock nodded in from a corner, but United responded strongly in the second half. Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund scored to flip the match on its head, with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes providing the decisive assists.

Matthijs de Ligt was a standout at centre-back, battling through a first-half head clash that left him with blood streaming down his face, yet he continued to put in a commanding display.
The result lifts United back into the top half of the Premier League table as they strive to recover from their tough start to the 2024/25 season.
Rashford’s fantastic display
While Garnacho has rightly grabbed many headlines for his fantastic second-half display that drove United towards victory, veteran journalist Henry Winters has highlighted Rashford’s display as one that needs highlighting.
Winters also explained that the myth surrounding Rashford that he does not care about playing for United should be dispelled and that his performance on Saturday afternoon reflects this.
“Marcus Rashford, deserving of all the praise,” the former Times editor explained on X.
Very good player. Good crosser and that pace is difficult for opponents to handle. Great work ethic in Manchester United vs Brentford, just needs this stellar level every week. Rashford cares about his team and his club, and he showed that again today.”
The statistics
In addition to the assist, Rashford completed 40 of his 45 attempted passes, created four chances, and had seven touches in the opposition box.
He had 62 touches in total, completing two out of his four attempted long balls and producing five passes into the opponent’s final third.
After a poor season across 2023/24, Rashford looks like he is developing back into his best at Old Trafford.
