Manchester United are set to confirm two deadline day signings and they have also made a U-turn on a player sale.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manuel Ugarte has now signed his contract at United, and it is only a matter of time before an official announcement is made.

The PSG midfielder will provide important depth for Erik ten Hag’s side after the two clubs reached an agreement on a fee earlier this week.

Writing on his Substack, Romano explained that United are also set to formally complete the signing of 18-year-old Sekou Kone before the deadline.

He stated that the teenager has undergone his medical tests at Carrington and that the deal is already signed between clubs.

While players are coming into the squad, exits are also anticipated. Scott McTominay’s move to Napoli needs to be finalised, and other potential departures could happen.

Vicor Lindelöf seemed likely to depart the club this summer but has not really attracted interest and a recent injury has also impacted his chances of leaving.

However, Romano has stated that Erik ten Hag still appreciates the player and that the club have not been ‘desperate’ to sell him, as some reports suggested.

“There’s a lot of noise in the media at the moment about Victor Lindelöf, but it’s always been quiet,” he wrote.

“Nothing is happening with Turkish or Italian clubs, and United are not desperate to sell the player as Ten Hag still appreciates him and he’s very calm.”
