One Manchester United transfer rumour has already been ruled out while INEOS have received good news in their pursuit of another target.

The Reds finished the 2023/24 campaign with their most impressive performance and result against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Now, attention quickly turns to the transfer window. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team will aim to improve the current squad at Old Trafford.

It will be crucial to sell players quickly in order to generate funds for incomings. One player who can commend a significant fee is Mason Greenwood.

The 22-year-old is likely to depart on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell at Getafe. Recent reports had claimed that Atletico Madrid were interested in the United forward.

It was added that the Spanish team were open to including Joao Felix in a deal for Greenwood and that United were considering the move.

However, Ben Jacobs has since clarified that this rumour holds no weight and there will be no swap deal involving Felix to United.

I’m told that’s nonsense,” he told The United Stand. “First and foremost, Joao Felix wants to stay at Barcelona.

“Felix either wants his move to Barcelona to become permanent or to be loaned out again by Atletico Madrid.”

Greenwood has plenty of other suitors and United are reportedly hoping to see him at around £40 million.

Meanwhile, recent reports from Fabrizio Romano have claimed that United and Chelsea are the two clubs pushing forward for Michael Olise this summer.

The Crystal Palace winger is a target of INEOS and Jacobs has explained that the 22-year-old would prefer a move to Old Trafford than Stamford Bridge.

“Given a straight choice between Manchester United and Chelsea, the player would prefer United, that’s my understanding,” he added.
