Man United starlet sends message to Ruben Amorim with exciting performance, he’s considered a “leading prospect”
One Manchester United starlet, who is considered a ‘leading prospect’ at the club, has sent a message to Ruben Amorim with his exciting performance this weekend.
Manchester United’s under-18s won 8-0 against Leeds‘ youth on the weekend and it was surprising to no one that they continued to demolish their competitiors.
United’s U18s have some of the most exciting talents across the country. Chido Obi-Martin scored a hat-trick on his full debut last week while Shea Lacey is also extremely impressive.
Against Leeds, it was 16-year-old Amir Ibragimov who stood out after scoring a hat-trick and producing a commanding performance.
A Manchester Evening News report from earlier this year explained that Ibragimov had trained with Ten Hag’s first-team at Carrington despite being just 15 at the time.
It was further explained that while it is unusual for players of that age to train with the first-team squad, Ibragimov is considered a ‘leading prospect’ at Old Trafford.
Since then, the talented teenager has become a regular player for the Under-18s side. He came off the bench in the first five league games of the season and has now started the last three.
With five goals and two assists so far, the exciting forward will be hoping to continue making an impression for when Ruben Amorim comes along.
Amorim will take charge at Old Trafford next week after Erik ten Hag’s sacking, and the new head coach has been described as someone who can ‘shape diamonds’ out of raw and exciting academy talent.
Joao Nuno Fonseca told Sky Sports: “The work that he has done and is continuing to do in developing young talent is the biggest reason for his success.
“Sporting have an amazing academy with a lot of talent. And Ruben is a coach who has an ability to shape diamonds.”
Ibragimov will be one of several young talents who will be keen to catch the eye of the 39-year-old in the coming months.
