Man United starlet sends Erik ten Hag emotional message as Old Trafford future confirmed

| Last Updated:

Erik ten Hag has received an emotional message from a departing player as his Manchester United future has been confirmed.

The brilliant David Ornstein has reported that Ten Hag will remain at United following the end-of-season review conducted by Old Trafford’s top brass.

It was also added that negotiations will begin over a new contract for the Dutch manager, whose current deal runs out in the summer of 2025.

One reason INEOS chiefs decided to keep the 53-year-old manager is his integration of youth talent.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho emerged as key players for him last season and were both goalscorers during the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Another young player that Ten Hag trusted was Omari Forson. The winger was given his United debut last season under the Dutchman and he made six further appearances.

However, Forson has decided to leave the club this summer on a free contract. His move to Italian club Monza has been confirmed this week.

Ten Hag highly rated the 19-year-old winger, and following the confirmation of his exit, Forson wrote an emotional message to the manager on his social media channels.

“[I] appreciate all the opportunities you gave me,” wrote Forson. “[I’m] gonna show the world what you saw in me a long time ago.”

Forson joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, and United will receive a composition fee following his exit.
