Manchester United considering £15m wildcard transfer with Manuel Ugarte price tag problem
Manchester United are considering a potential wildcard transfer option with a potential problem in a deal for Manuel Ugarte arising.
The Reds have signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro to address problems at either end of the pitch and are now considering midfield additions.
Sky Sports have reported that dialogue remains open with Paris Saint-Germain over Manuel Ugarte. However, initial talks have highlighted a clear gap in valuation.
It was also claimed that United are looking at Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco as a potential midfield addition this summer.
Finally, it was added that discussions are ongoing about whether to make Sofyan Amrabat’s loan deal a permanent one. Should this happen, it would most likely be a different deal than the one in the loan agreement.
Fofana, 25, is a deeper midfielder and made 35 appearances last season before being included in France’s squad for Euro 2024.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the French club are requesting around £15 million for Fofana’s services. He currently has a year remaining on his deal.
It was added that AC Milan have recently made a bid for the player at around £10 million.
Erik ten Hag’s side could certainly use additional strength in their midfield area, especially considering the potential exits this summer.
Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay have all been linked with potential moves away from Old Trafford.
