Leny Yoro makes subtle Real Madrid dig as Manchester United return timeline revealed
Leny Yoro has taken a subtle dig at Real Madrid as his return timeline for Manchester United is revealed following a three-month injury.
When Manchester United announced the signing of 18-year-old Leny Yoro from Lille for a fee of around £52 million, fans around the world were excited to see the young French star play.
United had defeated Real Madrid in an incredibly intense transfer battle after the footballing world was convinced that Los Blancos would secure their man. Still, United’s new board, led by CEO Omar Berrada, turned the tide.
Yoro’s first minutes came in a friendly tie against Rangers, where he played 45 minutes. However, a week later, he started against Arsenal in the USA and had to come off after 30 minutes with a foot injury. He was subsequently ruled out for three months.
Real Madrid dig
Since undergoing an operation, Yoro has been working hard to rehabilitate and regain his full fitness. With his return closing in, United sanctioned a TV interview with the 18-year-old, in which he seems to have taken a slight dig at Madrid after snubbing them in the summer.
Ferdinand, the former United defender, asked Yoro how he has felt in his opening months at the club, and in reply, Yoro explained that he now sees United as the biggest club in the world.
“The club is the biggest in the world. The history, the fans, everything is big here,” he said on TNT Sports.
Further, Yoro explained that he was a little taken aback by the sheer size of the club. “Bigger, bigger,” he said in response to being asked if life has been how he expected.
“I don’t know if I was ready to do this, but I will not complain, you know. It’s really good. The fans, the stage, you know, everything is good.”
Injury return
Regarding his return injury timeline, the latest reports have revealed that Yoro is “desperate” to return to the side in time for the fixture against Arsenal on 3 December.
However, United are not looking to rush his return as TYoro is seen as a long-term star in the team. It was also added that Yoro could be back on the grass at Carrington in mid or late-November if his recovery schedule goes as planned.
