Leny Yoro missed Manchester United’s training on Wednesday afternoon as Rúben Amorim prepares his side to face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Rúben Amorim is set to oversee his second match as Manchester United head coach on Thursday evening, following a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town.

The Europa League tie against Bodo/Glimt marks his first game at Old Trafford since taking charge earlier this month.

United are currently 15th in the Europa League standings, three points off the top eight places that grant automatic progression to the next round.

With three draws and one win in the competition so far, the team must improve in their final four group-stage games to avoid the play-off round ahead of the knockout stages in the new year.

Why Yoro missed training

United held an open training session for journalists and cameras to observe ahead of the club’s Europa League tie, which allows fans to see who is and is not in training.

While Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martínez have returned to the group, many have spotted that youngster Leny Yoro was not part of the team.

Yoro has been participating in full training for over a week, so it was a slight surprise that he was not included in the Ipswich Town group. However, it was later confirmed that this was just due to his continuing recovery.

According to the Daily Mail, Yoro is on a “Designated Recovery Day” on Wednesday, which is why he was not training with the main group under Amorim.

United are said to remain keen to be cautious about the £52 million signing’s return after a lengthy layoff following a metatarsal injury in pre-season. He has yet to make his debut for the club.
